The earthly paradise of Chrysi Island is located eight miles south of Ierapetra. It is an island that has been included in the European network of protected landscapes of natural beauty (NATURA 2000). Itineraries start from Ierapetra and are operated by the modern and safe boat "Aristovoulos". After about 60 minutes, you will have enough time at your disposal to walk along the paths of Chrysi and swim in its turquoise waters.

You will be impressed by the northern shores of Chrysi, full of shells - whose abundance is one of the characteristics of the island- the fine golden sand and the wonderful colours. In the places where there are sand dunes, the sand is mainly held back by the extensive root system of the cedars that form the only cedar forest in Europe, covering 350 hectares and with an average tree age of 250 years.

Enjoy your full-day excursion but remember that the island must be kept clean and it is not allowed to collect rocks, shells, plants, to light fires, to walk outside the designated paths and to camp.
